How is demand-responsive transport perceived by vulnerable travel groups?

What do vulnerable travel groups such as the elderly or disabled persons appreciate in demand-responsive transport? And what should transport companies and bus drivers know about the experiences of vulnerable travel groups in order to be able to improve the service? Researchers from Karlstad University conducted a thorough study and created a handbook to shed light on the topic.
The new handbook includes new knowledge and recommendations on how this type of travel can be developed to provide a better experience for the vulnerable travel groups. It features also a large number of quotes from people interviewed during the study, making the voices of vulnerable travel groups heard. Therefore the handbook is a valuable material for municipalities, public transport companies in developing their DRT services and trainings for bus drivers.
