The kick-off gathered the project partners and experts from the Baltics and the
Nordics to discuss the project goals and aims as well as set out an
action plan for the next three years in order to provide solutions for
demand-responsive transport in rural areas.
RESPONSE – Demand-responsive transport to ensure accessibility, availability and reliability of rural public transport
RESPONSE is an initiative driven by the public transport sector seeking to develop and coordinate existing publicly funded transport services. Most public transport services, including medical transport, outside urban areas remain focused on providing local, analogue and timetable-fixed bus services. RESPONSE addresses the transport challenge of decreasing passenger volumes and a low level of the cost-effectiveness of publicly funded organizations.
